Radiation Oncology in Pune

Radiation therapy leverages high-energy radiation to kill or shrink cancer cells. Charged particles, x-rays, and gamma rays are radiations that kill cancer cells. The radiation therapy can be given via an external beam, with the help of a machine called a linear accelerator, or internally, which is called brachytherapy.

At Inlaks and Budhrani, we’ve been running our radiation oncology department in our M.N. Budhrani Cancer Institute since November 1995. To date, we have treated over 20,000 cancer patients with radiotherapy.

Our Infrastructure

We leverage Theratron 780C Cobalt Machine, upgraded with Varian Ximatron Planning Simulator, the Varian Clinac 2300CD Dual energy linac. Besides, we have had the Nucletron Ir-192 HDR Brachytherapy machine since 1997.

In addition, we’ve been running the D.N.B. Radiotherapy Teaching program since 2011. Through this program, we have imparted education to many students and have many currently studying in the institute.
